
It said further that relatives of the kidnapped students had been making efforts to address a press conference at the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine. He added that negotiations have been underway to free the nine students allegedly taken captive by separatists in the eastern city of Luhansk.
Lysenko told a news conference yesterday that people with experience were conducting negotiations and contact with “the terrorists.” He added that Ukraine hoped that the talks would end “successfully in the near future.” Separatists seeking greater autonomy have been waging a bloody battle in eastern Ukraine against the government.
